THL4 - The Explaination

'The Hit List 4' is the most in depth release of the series to date. It discusses varies situations that i handle on a daily basis and my personal response to each of them. It begins with 'The Hit List 4: Hood_Pop dot Swagger' which simply states that I be cool person embrace the streets but not feed into the negative stereotype that surrounds it. I'm tryna set a positive outlook on all aspects of life. Whether you're the poorest kid on the streets or the richest man in the world it's all about making the world a better place.

'The Hit List 4.5: I'm So Got Damn Arrogant' is a from anyone that's ever been doubted to person that doubted them. Also, emboding a positive focus, this half discusses how to move forward and ignore anyone with less than great expectations of you.

Lastly, 'The Hit List 4.75: MYDB' enforces the previous 2 entries by telling those "haters" to be more concerned about their own life direction and money. I've made my 2011 the official year of "Mind Your Damn Business"!

THL4 – What to Expect

The Hit List 4 is coming together perfectly, I’m loading this new project full of NEW tracks, mixtape tracks, unreleased material, and exclusive previews to my LP ‘The Final Fantasy’ (due out this November). Expect a combination of sounds similar to ‘The Hit List 3: 90/360 Dayz’, with a range of Hip-Hop to Pop and everywhere in between. The next track to be released from the project is titled “He Who Bulids Quick Machines”. It is an up tempo track featuring a very special guest. I’ve been working on this track for 2 months making sure it has the right sounds and quality mixing. Overall I think everyone will be impressed by this project, it’s a definite upgrade and showcases the effort placed in this CD.

Disc 1 includes 2 projects ‘The Hit List 4: Hood_Pop dot Swagger’ and “The Hit List 4.5: I’m So Got Damn Arrogant’. The 2nd Disc to the mixtape is the 3rd project ‘The Hit List 4.75: Mind Yo Damn Business’. Each of the 3 projects have a theme and songs that match. In the next blog I will discuss the meanings behind each version.

The World Blog’s “2011 of the Year” Awards

Hip-Hop Artist of the Year – T.I.

  • Even though he got out of jail and went back in the same year. There’s no denying that TIP made an impact on 2010. With non-album singles “I’m Back”, “Yeah Ya Know”, album tracks “I Can’t Help It” (ft. Rocko), “Get Back Up” (ft. Chris Brown), “Castle Walls” (ft. Christina Aguilera), the movie ‘Takers’ and ‘Fuck A Mixtape’ … The King was “Uncaged” and showed “No Mercy”!

Pop Artist of the Year – Lady Gaga

  • Off the heels of her debut album ‘The Fame’ she released ‘The Fame Monster’ (EP) loaded full of more fist pumping hits. With outrageous videos and psychotic VMA outfits to match, I feel that Lady Gaga blew away the competition. Ke$ha, Taio Cruz, Jason Derulo, Beyonce! the “Princess of Pop” Britney Spears, and even the “Queen of Pop” Madonna couldn’t manage to read through her “Poker Face” (did I mention Lady Gaga can actually sing!!)

Rookie of the Year – Bei Maejor

  • Definitely a controversial topic when have artists like Wale, Wiz Khalifa, JBar, Waka Flocka Flame, J.Cole etc. who could dispute for the title. However, I’m riding with Mr. Maejor on this one. The dude actually has multi-talent! Anybody who can make a beat out of toys deserves the title ‘Super-Producer’ but he also sings, raps, and help crate some of the hottest songs of 2010. His mixtape/LPs ‘Upside Down 1 & 2’ are a flow great melodies and creativity on every song. Plus, he actually has something to talk about other than “Guns Sounds” LOL. It’s the “End of the Night” and whether you like it or not I’m calling Bei Maejor ‘Rookie of the Year’.

Overlooked+Indy Artist of the Year – Young Twist Rizer

      • Outside of the name change from Young Twist to Young Twist Rizer (due to copyright issues) this guy put in much worked. With producer Duck Trax they put together 2 amazing CDs in the form of ‘Play My S#!t’ and the ‘Certified Choe Chaser 2’ (both featured on numerous blog sites). Songs that include “Flip It” featuring Hypnotize Mindz Lil Wyte & Jellyroll and “Drop Top” featuring Grand Hustle’s Mike Bigga aka Killer Mike. This is just the start for the artist who’s motto is “Gettin’ to the money is an all day Grind”.

Song of the Year – Mike Posner “Cooler Than Me”

      • Almost at the border line of 1 hit wonder, Mike Posner smashed the summer radio waves with the lead single from his album ‘31 Minutes to Takeoff’. With talk of “designer shades to hide your face” he questioned You Think You’re “Cooler Than Me”.

Mixtape of the Year – B.O.B 'No Genre'

      • Dropped a mixtape and it sounded like an album! All I can say go check it out

Bei Maejor ‘Upside Down 2’ [12/2010 Mixtape of the Month]

Over the past year I’ve been discovering New Artist including Young Roc, Short Dawg, Kevin Fa$tlife and more. However, the this mixtape of the month goes to the rap-singing super producer Bei Maejor. His 1st mixtape/LP was a classic and this time he’s back with the super-smash ‘Upside Down 2: Hit Me Up’. With hot tracks including “Impressed” (co-produced by Rocco Valdes), “Upside Down” (ft. Jack Johnson), the intro “Right Now” and the remake “Hit Me Up Angel”.  Overall an excellent CD to experience, and looking forward to more music and a possible “official” LP from this dude.

      FEATURED ARTIST: Who is Sparkz?

The dude with the mic in this picture, is possibly the best thing to ever happen to the Hip-Hop Nation. His name is Sparkz and he’s more than an artist the man is a (dare I say) performance God! When I 1st saw him perform in early 2010, it was clear that he has a talent that will certainly take him to higher places. His lyrical content requires close attention, and above all he sounds great on recordings and live (something many “artists” are lacking).

I recently had the opportunity to work with him in the studio for the “I’m Fly (REMIX)” (AVAILABLE ON iTunes NOW) and in the studio he’s a machine. Using his trusty Blackberry it took only minutes for him to type the verse to this club banger.

If you never do anything else in your life, I recommend attending a Sparkz show. You’ll enjoy the story he begins with him, the interludes between and the energy. Personally, I learned a lot as an artist by being a spectator to his performances. Oh yeah, and between you and me, be on the lookout for a another CD headed your way from this artist. Follow him on twitter for updates!

So who is Sparkz? In my opinion a Hip-Hop genius who knows how entertain a crowd. Who does he sound similar to? Nobody else, he is a original individual that you’ll have to discover on your own like I did.

Twist - The Certified Choe Chaser

As you can see my brother Twist goes HARD!! This rising star in the Hip-Hop world has been the topic of discussion throughout his city of Chattanooga, TN. With a plethora of hits under sleeve including “Cocaina”, “Drop Top”(ft. Killer Mike of Grand Hustle), and the TN Street Anthem “Flip It”(ft. Lil' Wyte & Jellyroll). It’s clear that he is on a mission, for fame and success.
Let’s not forget THE MIXTAPES! In August 2010, he released his full featured mixtape ‘Play My Shit’ and to date it has an impressive 27,000+ downloads (excluding hard copies)! Currently, he has the Nation waiting for the ‘Certified Choe Chaser 2’ mixtape. It’s the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Certified Choe Chaser’ featuring hit single “Rubberband Boy” (produced by the iconic Drumma Boy). He has codenamed it “The Big One” but in this interview gave no details on it’s release.
      "FRIDAY DEC 17TH"
However, he did give us information on how he’s going to end 2010. December 16-18 will be a 3-Day filming to his lead single “Flip It” with both Lil Wyte , Jellyroll and members of Hypnotize Minds in attendance. Where will this take place you might ask? No place other than his hometown of Chattanooga, TN (see poster for details). It has been said by A&Rs that it is hard to find talent in Non-metropolitan cities. Twist is a major exception to that rule.
To end the interview we asked Twist, “How would you feel if you were signed to a major label deal today?” He said, “Happy as hell! I could do things to further my career, put my team on, and help my family.” Then we asked, “What would you do with the signing bonus money?” He stated, “I bet you I Can Flip It!

Young Roc – Orientation 3 [11/2010 Mixtape of the Month]

Young Roc and his ‘Orientation 3’ mixtape has been out since July 2010 so I’m thinking to myself.. Why am I just now discovering this artist? The dude is a devastating Rap/Producer combo with a story to tell. Just listen to his mixtape and you’ll see.

The CD sounds like something Drake would do but with Young Roc’s unique choice of words. It has a classic sound, a feel good effect and deep lyricism. This is definitely something that will be in my iPod for weeks to come!

      Episode 3 – Update 1

In the last skit of 'Episode 2' Jay Skywalka and The Rayzor engaged in a battle. The last thing known was that the war of lightsabers could only have one winner! The question the big question is, who won the fight? After the scene, the following songs don't really explain who's dead or alive. The answer to this pulse-pounding question will be revealed this Winter when 'Episode 3: Gears of War' hit stores everywhere!
